The following changes were made to the 2023 STR questionnaire at the turn of the year:

1. the STR field [1552 2595] “First surgical intervention” has been replaced with the following DGU fields:

• [2393 3052] Emergency surgical interventions
• [2395 3054] Cut date
• [2394 3053] Cut time

2. the STR field [1501 2553] “Administered coagulation-promoting medication” was replaced with DGU field [8222 8981] “Drug coagulation therapy”.

3. addition of new optional fields:

• [2444 3096] Mechanical ventilation in days

4. the following fields are optional:

• [1514 2562] Quantity Ec in first 24h (Ec units)

On behalf of the STR registry management, a number of optional DGU fields were included in the course of aligning the STR questionnaire with the DGU.

The following changes were made to the STR and DGU questionnaire 2022 in 2021/22.
The field [2591] “Glasgow Outcome Scale (GOS)” was renamed “Condition at discharge/transfer”. The previous codes 1 (death) to code 5 (minor neurological and psychological deficits) were removed. Instead, the following codes were introduced analogous to the DGU:

• 6 “Well recovered”
• 7 “Moderately disabled”
• 8 “Severely disabled”
• 9 “unresponsive”
• 10 “not specified”

The field has also been given a help button with the explanations from the DGU questionnaire:

• well recovered: Good recovery.
• Moderately disabled: Moderate disability (disabled but independent).
• Severely disabled: Severe disability (conscious but disabled and dependent on assistance).
• unresponsive: persistent vegetative state.

The following changes were made to the STR and DGU questionnaire 2021 (originally 2020) in 2020/21.

1. The field [6771] “First surgical intervention” under the heading “Other treatment parameters (shock room without surgery phase)” has been removed.
2. The field [6778] “First surgical intervention” under the heading “Other treatment parameters (surgery phase)” has been removed.
3. The field [2649] “Catecholamines” and the field [2665] “Catecholamines” were deleted from the STR questionnaire 2021.
4. Code 3 “diverse” is added to the field [365] “Gender”. Concerns the DGU and STR questionnaire.
   
   Important note:
   The code number 4 was chosen freely, as the DGU has not yet announced exact specifications.

Analogous to the DGU, the code number 3 was set for “diverse”.

1. New field [71] “Patient was informed about this statistic”. Concerns the DGU and STR questionnaire.
2. The field [2500] “Accident time” is mandatory. Concerns the DGU and STR questionnaire.
3. New field [6729] “Employer’s liability insurance association case”. Concerns the DGU questionnaire. In the STR questionnaire it is set to “no” by default and hidden.

The questionnaire has already been made available to all participating hospitals and can be viewed in Adjumed via the 2021 selection. Please forward this information to your hospital IT if you have an interface to Adjumed.
