Minimally Invasive Breast Biopsy (MIBB) has been part of the basic health insurance service catalogue since 2010. In order for the MIBB to be included in this service catalogue, the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) stipulated in the Krankenpflege-Leistungsverordnung KLV (Health Insurance Benefits Ordinance) that the MIBB have to be documented in a database.
Since its foundation, the MIBB working group of the Schweizerische Gesellschaft für Senologie (Swiss Society of Senology, SGS) has been relying on quality assurance with the Adjumed.net system.
The MIBB database has been used several times as the basis for scientific studies and consensus conferences. Noteworthy here is the consensus for B3 lesions: First International consensus conference on lesions of uncertain malignant potential in the breast (B3 lesions).
